NABSAMRUDDHI wins Sa-dhan Water.org WASH award 2023-second time in a row!

NABSAMRUDDHI Finance Limited has been awarded the Sa-Dhan Water.org ‘Water and Sanitation (WASH) Financing Award, 2023’ in recognition of its contribution towards providing supportive finance for WASH segment. This is the second time in a row that this award was conferred on Nabsamruddhi!

Recognising the achievement, Shri Goverdhan Singh Rawat, DMD NABARD and NABARD’s Nominee Director on Board of NABSAMRUDDHI, congratulated the leadership and the entire team of NABSAMRUDDHI for their achievement and motivated them to take forward the agenda of achieving the sustainable development goals through WASH Financing. Shri Subrat Kumar Nanda, CGM, IDD, also appreciated Nabsamruddhi’s efforts in the direction of WASH funding, in his capacity as Board member of Nabsamruddhi.

Smt. Bonani Roychoudhury, Managing Director of Nabsamruddhi, thanked the Board members for their constant guidance and support in realizing the focused goals of NABSAMRUDDHI and also inspired the team to dedicatedly pursue its stated purpose.

NABSAMRUDDHI had identified WASH as once of its focus sectors during FY21 and this has emerged as its champion segment, whereby 25 entities including MFIs, NBFCs and HFCs across the risk rating spectrum have been supported through term loans , blended finance and structured products for WASH to the tune of INR 250 Crore covering ~60k end borrowers, most of whom are women.

This was boosted by special concessional refinance from NABARD and technical support from Water.org, Sa-dhan and other stakeholders.

The company recently launched its ‘Climate Ready WASH funding program’ which was inaugurated by Shri Shaji K.V., Chairman, NABARD at an exclusive event at the Sa-dhan National Conference on Inclusive Growth on 08 November 2023 and was graced by Shri Jiji Mammen, ED & CEO, Sa-dhan; Shri Ravi Takkar, Chairman, Nabsamruddhi among others and attended by ~50 MFIs, NBFCs, HFCs and other stakeholders.

In addition to funding for WASH, the Company has also been educating and inspiring its clients to scale up WASH financing by engaging with them on a continuous basis, bridging the demand and supply gaps in the WASH lending ecosystem, organising WASH summits and events and contributing to panel discussions in various Fora organised by stakeholders. Further, realising its corporate responsibility, NABSAMRUDDHI has been providing CSR support to WASH related projects in various states.

The award was presented during the ‘Sa-Dhan and Water.org National Awards 2023’ under the aegis of the Sa-Dhan National Conference on Inclusive Growth 2023 held on 08 November 2023 in New Delhi and was received by Smt. Bonani Roychoudhury, Managing Director along with the core WASH team of Nabsamruddhi including Alisha Varghese Mathew, SVP; Arti, VP and Rajitha A., and Sachin Sharma, AVP, on behalf of NABSAMRUDDHI, from Shri H P Singh, Chairman, Sa-dhan, Shri Jiji Mammen, Executive Director & CEO of Sa-Dhan and Shri Manoj Gulati, Regional Director, South Asia, Water.org.

The award has been given under the category ‘Capital Providers’ for WASH jointly by Sa-Dhan and Water.org.
